GPR Used To Locate Reinforcement And Conduit - Denver, ColoradoGround Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. was contacted by CBA Construction of Parker, CO to provide digital concrete imaging of reinforcement and other anomalies in the concrete slab at the Denver Dumb Friends League in Denver, CO. The Customer was looking to install new floor drains for the remodel of a grooming room and did not wish to strike any reinforcement or any other anomalies in the slab. The hole required for the floor drain was larger so to avoid striking reinforcement with the core drill. GPRS, Inc. was able to give the depth of the reinforcement found so the customer could core the big hole for the base of the floor drain, and then downsize the core to allow the plumbing to go through the slab while not striking any reinforcement in the slab. The customer did not wish to compromise any reinforcement to jeopardize the structural integrity of the facility. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. was able to provide the scanning of the concrete slab in a quick and precise manner.

Ground Penetrating Radar is completely safe to be around as it emits no radiation as opposed to traditional concrete x-ray. This was ideal because the site was an operating work place with the employees of the Denver Dumb Friends League as well as construction workers at the site of the remodel. No modifications of work schedules were required and Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. is able to service concrete imaging during normal business hours. All data findings with GPR scanning are marked directly on the surface at the customer’s request for the easiest interpretation as well as whatever marking are preferred, whether the customer requests permanent marker with a clear marking paint to protect the longevity of the markings. Or on finished floors; markings on tape as to not cause unwanted markings to finished floors. Other options are available at the customer’s request for the easiest interpretation. All data findings are instant and do not require the development of shots or films as with traditional concrete xray imaging. These features are very time efficient and work well with the time constraints and tight schedules of construction sites. GPR also only requires one side of the slab for scanning, further saving time and resources on the job site.

GPRS offers a variety of services other than locating conduit and reinforcement in concrete slabs.
