Post Tension Cables Located By GPRS
- Broomfield Colorado

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was recently contacted by AMLI Development of Greenwood Village Colorado to locate tension cables at an apartment building in Broomfield Colorado. The customer was repairing plumbing pipes and needed to gain access to the subgrade below the building. They needed to verify the location of cables before proceeding with the cutting of the slab. They needed to be assured that before cutting their holes that they were not going to strike any reinforcement. They decided to use concrete imaging provided by Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to accomplish this task.

Post Tension Cables Located By GPRS - Broomfield ColoradoGRPS has no limitations to the size of area that can be imaged, and also has instant results so the findings can be marked directly on the surface in real time with no waiting for films to be developed as with traditional x-ray. GPRS was able to scan multiple large area and give approximate depths to the reinforcement, quickly and efficiently. Ground Penetrating Radar only needs access to one side of the concrete as well; therefore ground penetrating radar was ideal in this situation because it was a slab on grade installation. This was ideal for the customer as they were on a tight timeline and did not need any further delays in their schedule. GPR is the new way to x-ray.
